How Is Your Sleep?

Jennifer in Ocean Grove, NJ

As some of you may know, I suffer with insomnia & has become worse since the pandemic. My studies around the brain and brain health has truly helped me dive deeper into what is happening at the root.

I know there are so many things we can do, trust me I’ve tried them all. The single thing that ALWAYS helps ~ allowing your body to rise with the sun and having early morning sunlight touch your body. You don’t have to be at a beach to do so but it certainly helps because if you can ground your body (go barefoot), you are charging your body and brain simultaneously.

I sleep the best when I am at my tent each summer because I am barefoot and waking with the sun. I get to hear the ocean at night or actual rain and wind on the tent. When you wake up and spend time outdoors in the sunlight, you are setting into motion your clocks internal circadian rhythm. When I am not at the beach, I try and start my day with a Wellness Walk, again to allow the sun to touch my skin. I do these walks before I even open the first email of the day.

Other tips I recommend:
* sleep with an eye mask
* keep your room as cool as possible.
* keep your room dark
* weighted blankets are fantastic but make sure the brand is one that can keep you cool. I love @mybearaby
* play relaxing nature sounds on your Alexa device or other device you have. One of my favorite sound machines that I use a lot is @morphee.us
* look for bedding that is cooling and comfortable. I love the mattress topper from @zoeysleep
* keep your phone as far away from your bed as possible.
* CBD gummies and tinctures are a great aid. Check out @standarddose for their huge selection.

Happy sleeping!
Would love to know what works for you. Do you sleep better in certain places vs others?
